Film Night: Sometimes Always Never (12A)

Friday 18th October

£5 on the door

An elegant off-beat British comedy drama with a wonderful cast.  Bill Nighy leads as a retired tailor whose missing son walked out years earlier after an argument over a Scrabble word.  We see how this affects his life and his other son.

Nighy’s deadpan wit and the erudite humour brings a light touch that belies its emotional depth.  Communication is about finding the right words….

A joy of a script from Frank Cottrell Boyce and assured direction from Carl Hunter.  Sam Riley, Jenny Agutter, Alice Lowe and Tim McInnerney co-star in this oddball gem of Scrabble, loss and beguiling Englishness.

Refreshments available.

Doors open at 6.30 for a 7pm start.

All profits to the Village Hall unless stated otherwise.
