Film Night: Yesterday (12A)

Friday 15th November

£5 on the door

A struggling Suffolk songwriter awakes from an accident to find that, following a mysterious global power blackout, he is the only person in the world who remembers “The Beatles”.  Based on this fanciful premise, Jack (Himesh Patel) suddenly has their entire catalogue at his disposal to pass off as his own.  So we get wonderful music (with some innovative arrangements) combined with humour as Jack tries to sort through the confusion.

However, success can come at a price leaving Jack with a moral dilemma as to what it is he really wants.  Lily James co-stars along with Meera Syal and Sanjeev Bhaskar.  Ed Sheeran, who sends himself up gamely, also features.

An engaging romantic comedy from director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Richard Curtis with an amazing soundtrack.  A glowing tribute to the music of “The Beatles” and a toe-tapping pleasure to watch.

Refreshments available.

Doors open at 6.30 for a 7pm start.

All profits to the Village Hall refurbishment unless stated otherwise.
