The Main Hall
The spacious main hall has a high ceiling and is able to seat up to 200 theatre style and up to 180 at tables depending on whether a buffet table or dancing is required. The hall makes an ideal hire venue for weddings, concerts, social functions, clubs, exhibitions and dances.
A stage is available at the far end of the hall and there are doors leading to the green area to the south of the hall. Plus a serving hatch from the kitchen and doors leading to the bar/small function room.
A range of tables and chairs are available, these consist of 25 6ft x 2.5ft collapsible tables, as well as 12 half size collapsible and 8 bridge tables. There are 190 stacking chairs plus 40 wooden chairs in the bar.
The Wallace Room – Bar & Small Function Room
Separate from the main hall, although accessed from it, this smaller room can be hired independently and includes the village hall bar.
Accessed from The Wallace Room, with a serving hatch to the main Hall, the kitchen is full equipped with:
- kettle & hot water urn
- electric oven and hob.
The hall has toilets for ladies and gentlemen and a large coat area off the main entrance. There is a disabled toilet. Off the main hall is a small gated patio area which leads onto the large village playing field, with play equipment for all ages of children. Of particular value in Blakeney is the large Village Hall car park.
The area has some excellent caterers and we can supply a list of caterers familiar with the hall who can offer anything from a simple buffet to a full dinner or hog roast / BBQ. Details available upon request.
If used, the hall kitchen must be left clean and tidy unless a post hire clean has been agreed and paid for.
Decorating the Hall
Please talk to the Village Hall Trust as we do ask that no sellotape or bluetac is stuck to the emulsioned walls, but there are many hooks provided around the main hall and reception area, to enable decorations to be hung.
The Village Hall Bar
Blakeney Village Hall holds a full Premises Licence which includes the sale of alcohol. Bar staff are fully trained and experienced and take the four licensing objectives stated in the Licensing act 2005. (The prevention of crime and disorder; Public safety; The prevention of public nuisance; The protection of children from harm) very seriously.
The Hall has a well stocked bar and we are happy to work with the hirer to ensure we offer the right mix of wine, draught bitter, lager and spirits for the event. The bar can only be opened by prior arrangement and bar bookings should be made at the time of booking the hall.
If the bar is not required a corkage charge may be made. Only the licensed village hall bar staff may sell alcohol in the village hall. The hirer can only provide alcohol to guests free of charge and not whilst the bar is open. Only alcohol purchased at the village hall bar can be consumed outside on the playing field. The hire of glassware can be arranged for events not using the bar.
